Hawke DL17 - Conversion March 2001

Well the snows have now cleared and I have discovered that I still have a garage - honest, the snow drifts were so deep...................

Excuses over - I now have the brakes fully functional and I have fitted a competition clutch and diagphram to the engine/gearbox.
I have also given the block a lick of paint and fitted the short motor and gearbox into the chassis.
The engine is fairly standard - it has a Piper 285 cam and has a +0.030" overbore to give a capacity of 1300cc.
I have a modified cylinder head with S sized valves and heavily skimmed (I suspect that compression might be a bit high) The engine will have to run with lead replacement & Octane booster additive. I have not stripped my 45DCOE Weber yet, so I don't know what jets etc I am needing.

I will not be running an alternator so I have made an idler pulley for the waterpump drive.
I adapted a power steering idler pulley from a Ford Capri 2.8 - it all seems to line up.

I still need to source new front wheels and a set of new slicks all round (er. not flat at the bottom, like the ones on the car at the moment)
