Hawke DL17- What Next?

The Suzuki GSXR-1100 (1127cc) engine for Phase II of the Hawke DL17 project.
This engine originally powered a racing sidecar outfit.
It makes an unholy racket and spits 3 foot flames from the exhaust on the overrun
(when it was tried in an old bike frame).

I have started to acquire bits and pieces to make a chain drive differential (using a Mini diff.)

I will have to fabricate a complete new rear end for the Hawke, doing away with the Mini subframe - I will probably try and get my hands on a set of plans for a Terrapin rear end.
(2001)

For the 2002 season I acquired a Royale FF1600 fitted with a Kawasaki ZX-10 motorcycle engine.

Unfortunately, the Royale met an untimely end at the Doune Hillclimb in 2002.
So I had to complete the season using the trusty Hawke DL17 now fitted with a 1380cc Mini power plant.
Using the Hawke, my times were improving on the 2001 seasons, but the car was still uncompetitive in its class
(I was also still being beaten by the quick Westfields).

After a lot of pondering (I do like a long ponder!),
I decided to cut off the rear end of the Hawke DL17 and install the Kawasaki engine (May 2003).
